#tgifc160 Inspiration Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!

The current challenge on the TGIF Challenges Blog is an Inspiration Challenge. This time the Inspiration is All About Wood. What does that mean to me? I need to incorporate WOOD

somewhere on my card. As it happens I have a card that I created while trying to come up with a One Sheet Wonder set. My card for #tgif160 uses the Pinewood Planks dynamic embossing folder and a tree image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. My card also uses several new products that will be available starting June 2, 2018. I am in love with the Nature's Poem Designer series paper. The color scheme that was used to create it is gorgeous. While my card today uses one of the more traditional patterns I picked up a few colors from it and used them.

SIP Challenge 150 – Fancy Folds!

Hello again,

Here I am once again with another card for the current challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper
Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge is Fancy Folds. This one really got my crafting itch going. There is nothing like a new card fold to create an itch I have to scratch. The newest card fold that I am beginning to see everywhere online is the Impossible Card. It's really cute. with 3 cuts on the card base and a twist on one side you have something new to play with. When I set out to make one of these I quickly realized that the standard size was not going to work with my chosen stamp set. So my Impossible Card is a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". I needed a little more height on the Design Layer and the square card gave me that. You can get 2 card bases out of a single sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock.

Card Details
Mint Macaron Card Base - 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (follow diagram for the cuts and fold).
2-Mats - Tranquil Tide Cardstock - 2 5/8" x 5 3/8" (Follow template to cut).
2-Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper - 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" (Follow template to cut).
Design Layer Mat - Tranquil Tide - 2 5/8" x 3 3/8".
Card Base
Design Layer - Watercolor Paper - 2 1/2" x 3 1/4".
Crane & Water Lily - Watercolor Paper - 3" x 3 1/2"
Grasses - Tranquil Tide Scrap
Sentiment Mat - Tranquil Tide - 1 5/16" x 3 1/2"
Sentiment DSP - Trace around the die and fussy cut.
Sentiment Layer - Watercolor Paper - 1" x 3 1/4".

Cut the Card Base to size. Score the card on on one side at 2 3/4". Mark the 3 cut lines with a pencil. Basically all the cuts stop at the fold line. Fold the right side under and back so that the 1" piece is now on the front right. The other side has the 1" piece on the back left.

If you plan to make more than one of these cards you should make templates to follow. I used
Card Base Mat Template
thick Cardstock to make my templates so that they would hold up under a lot of use. Below you will see the templates for the mats and the designer series paper. I used the Stampin' Trimmer to cut my lines so that they would be straight. If you feel you can cut them with scissors do so.

I cut the mat from Tranquil Tide Cardstock. The Designer Series Paper that I used was from the new Nature's Poem DSP.  Be mindful of any one way design that you choose. You will need to flip the template to make sure everything is right side up.

For the Design Layer I did a watercolor wash on the bottom with Mint Macaron. Then I used the "Water" stamp and Tranquil Tide Ink and stamped the water lines in. Again I blended the water lines into the background with my Aqua Painter. I stamped the Crane and the Water Lillies with Basic Black Ink. When they were dry, I add color with my Aqua Painter. Smokey Slate to shade the crane a little. Petal Pink for the Water Lillies and Tranquil Tide for the Leaves. I glued the Grass to the scene with Liquid Glue. The Crane and the Water Lillies are popped up on Mini Dimensionals. The Sentiment is stamped with Basic Black on water color paper and cut out with the coordinating die. Then I layered it onto a piece of DSP. I popped the up onto the Tranquil tide Mat with Mini Dimenionals too. Adhere the Sentiment Strips with Liquid Glue to the Card base making sure that the Card is Squared up.

DSP Template
I added a Pearlized Doily to the card base by cutting halfway through one. I slid it in place and
then cut the back away and adhered the edges with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I added a Grapefruit Grove Twine Bow to the corner of the Sentiment.

PCC291: Sketch Challenge

Good Morning,

Today I am going to show a card that I made using 2 new products. The Stitched All Around
Bundle and the 2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. I have used the current sketch available on the Paper Craft Crew Challenge Blog for this card. I will admit to having an obsession with stitching on a card. So it was an absolute necessity that I purchase the Stitched All Around Bundle. You are going to love the Stitched elements found in this set. Plus the added bonus off being able to save 10% by purchasing the bundle.

My card base is Whisper White Cardstock
(5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"). The Card Front (3 3/4" x 5") is from the New 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper that will be available in all of the new color families starting in June. I stamped the sentiment with Tranquil Tide onto Petal Pink Cardstock (3 1/2" x 3" also new). Then I cut it out with the coordinating die from the Stitched Labels Framelits. I also cut a stitched circle (1 1/4" x 1 1/4") from Tranquil Tide Cardstock and a little stitched heart from a scrap of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock. The 3/16" x 4 1/8" fishtail banner is a scrap of Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper. The lovely little pearls come from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls pack. The Inside Layer (3 3/4" x 5") is Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped what I am calling a Garland with Grapefruit Grove Ink. The Baker's Twine bow on the heart came from the FREE boxed set of goodies I received for purchasing the Got To Have It All bundle that is being offer this month only. There were so many cute things in there.

May 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cre8tors May Blog Hop. This month we say goodbye to some of our favorite products that are retiring from the Occasions Catalog. There were so many to  choose from that I finally went with the one that I kept reaching for over the last few months. The Lots to Love Box was so much fun to play with as well as give to friends and family for Valentine's Day, Easter, Birthdays & Mother's Day.

I made these boxes using a few stamp & die or punch sets (You can find the list at the bottom of this post). I used Calypso Coral for the box on the left and a layer of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) on top. The Daisy Flower was stamped in Calypso Coral onto Calypso Coral Cardstock and then cut with the Daisy Punch. The leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink onto Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and then I fussy cut them out.The Banner is stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and then cut with the coordinating die from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies (retiring the end of May). The Ribbon is the 3/8" Mini Chevron Old Olive Ribbon (Retiring in June).

The smaller box on the upper right is a 3 x 3 Note Card Box I made from the same set of dies. I just made it shorter. This one is a Night of Navy box Trimmed with the Delightful Daisy DSP (also retiring in June). The Daisy Flower is stamped with Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. The leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and Fussy Cut them out as well. I pulled some color from the edges into the center using a Blender Pen. The Sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy Ink onto some strips of Whisper White and then cut to size.

For the Thank You cards I chose to use Pear Pizzazz Cardstock for the Base. Whisper White for the Card Front. Night Navy Ink for the flowers and sentiments and Pear Pizzazz for the flower stems.

If you would like to Purchase the Framelits (Available while Supplies last) you can click on the link below and you will be taken to my shop where you can complete your purchase. By the way, The Lots to Love Framelits Dies have been discounted 30%! Bringing the price to 23.10 plus tax and shipping. Remember to use the host code when you place the order (ZQAAYWQ).
